Dear Parents,
On behalf of the staff and administration of Pope John XXIII School, I would like to welcome you to our school community. Whether you have just joined us this year, or have been a member or our school community for many years, we thank you for choosing Pope John XXIII School. In choosing our school for your child/children, you have shown your faith and commitment to Catholic education. You have entrusted to us your most precious possession, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Please be assured that providing a safe and stimulating environment for your child is one of our first concerns.
Pope John XXIII School is a Catholic School, and our Catholic identity is very important to us. We do welcome families of other faiths into our Christian Community. By providing religious experiences and promoting an atmosphere of respect and care, we aim to instill in all our students moral values that will grow and develop everyday. With Jesus as our role model and parents as our partners, together we can promote each child’s spiritual and moral growth.
We are proud of our students’ past academic achievements and aim to not only continue this success, but also to strive to do better each year. Pope John XXIII School recognizes the unique talents of each of our students and staff. We want to provide a community of learners where each person’s individuality is celebrated and the joy of learning is enhanced. The education that began at home, with parents as the first teachers, will continue here as a first step in developing life-long learners.
Because parents are the primary teachers of their children, communication between home and school is imperative. Written policies help to promote stability, consistency, and efficiency in the operation of our school. The handbook, which can be found in the school forms link, under the parents section, reflects the policies and guidelines developed over the years. It has been revised with the help of the school board to clarify procedures in accordance with the recommendations of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Please read this book and discuss its contents with your child. Keep it as a reference during the school year.
With your help and cooperation we can continue the proud tradition of excellence and make our school a place where each child can continue to grow spiritually, morally, intellectually, and socially. I look forward to the coming year with excitement and anticipation.
Thank you for your support and faith in us.
May Blessed Pope John XXIII bless you!
Sincerely,
Rosalie Musiala
