Pope John XXIII School offers flexible Before and After Care programs to support the needs of our families. Available for students from Preschool through 8th grade, these programs provide a safe, welcoming environment for students before and after the regular school day. Morning Care is also available for half-day preschoolers. Families may choose a monthly rate of $375 per student or $700 per family with two or more children, or use the hourly option as needed.

Morning Care 
Morning Care runs from 7:00–8:00 AM in the Media Center (top floor). Parents must sign children in upon arrival. Students begin their day with quiet, engaging activities such as reading, artwork, and games before heading to their classrooms at 8:00 AM. Pre-K and Kindergarten students are escorted by a teacher or aide. For families not on the monthly plan, the hourly fee is $15 for 7:00–8:00 AM or $7.50 for 7:30–8:00 AM. Please note that students may not wait outside before 8:00 AM.

After School CareThe After Care program runs from 3:00–6:00 PM, beginning at 2:00 PM on Wednesdays. Students gather in the cafeteria for snack and juice before enjoying recess from 3:30–4:00 PM, either outside or indoors depending on the weather. At 4:00 PM, Pre-K through 2nd grade students move downstairs in the Language Lab for reading, play, and games, while students in grades 3–8 head upstairs for homework, puzzles, games, and artwork.
Parents should ring the Language Lab doorbell at pick-up to be buzzed in. If another adult is picking up your child, please send a note, email, or call the office in advance. After Care is $15 per hour, with the 2:00–3:00 PM block on Wednesdays offered at no charge for this school year. The program ends promptly at 6:00 PM, and late pick-up is charged at $1 per minute.
Program NotesNo advance registration is required; families may use Extended Care whenever needed. Students heading to games or practices in the gym must have written permission, and staff will escort them once an adult supervisor is present. Any student not picked up by 3:10 PM (2:10 PM on Wednesdays) will be placed in After Care, and families will be billed accordingly. Please note that After Care is not available on half days.
