At Pope John XXIII School, every student participates in the PJ Pals Program which pairs older students with younger ones. This creates connections across grade levels and builds a supportive school community. Older students serve as mentors and friends to their younger "Pals," creating bonds that enrich their school experience and help them grow in faith and friendship.
PJ Pals engage in various activities together, from exchanging letters and reading stories to creating art projects, baking, and participating in outdoor buddy reading sessions. They also sit together during Mass and school assemblies, allowing them to share in worship, celebrate together, and deepen their sense of community and belonging. This program is a cherished tradition that develops leadership, empathy, and confidence in our students. PJ Pals learn from each other, play together, and grow together, creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. |
