Preschool

Pope John XXIII Preschool is unique in many ways. We have our own early childhood center with six rooms in which the children transition to different learning centers throughout the day.
Our theme based curriculum is designed with a child’s interest in mind and is enriched with hands-on activities. We invite our students to learn through play and trying new experiences. Our PJ23 preschoolers are learning in English and in Spanish with instruction delivered by certified and bilingual teachers.

Through a variety of developmentally appropriate practices and STREAM, teachers work with students to help them develop social/emotional skills, language readiness, phonological readiness, writing readiness, math readiness, religion concept, and fine/gross motor development.

Both of our preschool programs offer daily specials courses such as Spanish, Music, Physical Education and STEM courses. Our preschool students also enjoy the use of our computer lab, library and their own playground.

Each preschool classroom is guided by a lead teacher and a classroom aide.

3 Year-Old Program

We welcome students into their first school experience with a fun a nurturing environment. Our 3 year olds are introduced to fundamental skills and begin to learn how to problem solve and express their feelings and talents. Our school’s philosophy that teaching is learned through discovery, teacher direction and each other is introduced in their first year with us. Children must be 3 by September 1, 2019.
